to sleep. From the logos that we wear, to advertising campaigns, websites and
apps, design is everywhere and will always be in demand.
There are
endless opportunities for you to gain access to the design world with a degree
in Graphic Design and you have chosen a profession where there’s a strong demand

Modules Covered
You will study a range of topics including:
Introduction to Design,
Illustration, UX, UI Design, Graphic Image Making, Typography, Advertising,
Branding, Contextual Investigation and Work-based Design Projects.

the Graphic Arts Industries. Working with designers in the industry using client
led briefs is at the heart of this course and is embedded into most of the
modules.

working environment. It is fully equipped with the latest software and design
facilities. The studio is all yours to be your most creative!
The
delivery of the programme is designed to reflect the balance of skills and
knowledge needed to work competently within the graphic design industries,
ensuring that the qualification supports both workplace and educational
progression. You are taught by professional designers/lecturers in small classes
which enables more time with your tutors. Our teachers are industry
practitioners who are here to support you with your studies and help you achieve
your goals.
A high level of collaboration with designers from industry
such as Human Studios and Eleven Design ensures that employers and practitioners
are involved with regular reviews of modules and assignments. Industry-led
briefs and commercial project work are integrated into modules and
assignments.
Your work will be supported by a full lecture programme at
Sheffield Hallam that offers a diverse range of designers from all around the
world. You also have access to the University’s Library and online digital forum
to help you with your studies.
Trips - Madrid, New York, Barcelona are
just a few places the design students have visited over the last few
years.

Entry requirements
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or substantial relevant experience
- GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above or equivalent
- A portfolio of work or online digital work
- All applicants who are non-native English speakers, or who have not
studied the final two years of school in English, must have an IELTS score of
6.0 or above.

Digital Portfolio Requirements If you apply to the
course we will ask you to provide a portfolio of work/digital portfolio to
support your application. This can include development work so include scans of
one of your sketch books or other examples of development work to demonstrate
your working method and ideas.
